Great news, everyone! We are thrilled to announce that we have been successful in obtaining a major conditional grant from the Veolia Environmental Trust to fund the installation of solar panels on our Scout Hall.

This is a massive step forward in our ongoing transformation project, bringing us closer to our goal of creating a more sustainable and energy-efficient building for our young people and the local community. The solar panels will not only help us reduce our carbon footprint but also significantly lower our running costs, allowing us to invest more in our adventurous activities, equipment, and overall hall maintenance.

This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support from our families, volunteers, and the wider Herne Bay community. Thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraising efforts, responded to the consultation, and provided their time and advice to support our vision for the future of 1st Herne Bay Scout Group.

We can’t wait to share more updates as the project progresses.
